I find inspiration for my cigar box purses from many different places. A friend's calendar,
the wine labels that I carried around for years, those Mardi Gras beads that occupy much
of my attic, the possibilities are as endless. Aside from the cigar boxes being recycled, I
find little bits here and there to accent whatever design I've come up with.

A great memento of a
European adventure. It was
made while I was living in
London. Check out the
brown sueded lining.

This funky little
number is a pave'
of all pink beads
and a Mardi Gras
mask with brilliant
green eyes
making this a very
unique cigar box
purse.
I love this
combination of
blue and orange
beads for a
hand-painted tile
effect. Lined with
a quilted satin in
rich chocolate
brown, this cigar
box purse has a
very rich look.
I found
some beads
that I knew
would make
perfect
petals. This
purse is
what I saw
in my head.

This purse got it's name
through a little faux pax on
my part, that being a
reversed bass clef, thus
it's name is "Reverse Bass
in A Minor". With a
combination of
decoupage, some hand
designed musical symbols
and finished with Mardi
Gras beads for a little
sparkle.

"Tattooed by the Blues" is the
name of this little number. The
designs was an actual tattoo
that I thought looked fabulous
and payed homage to all the
music of New Orleans.

Gifts for special friends have
opened the door to another
medium by painting scences on
the boxes. It's nice to capture
little snippets of our lives and
put them onto a box that can be
used or a purse to be carried as
a reminder of best friends, great
times and familiar places, which
was the sentiment I chose for my
girlfriend, Kathi's purse.
Our friend, Micheal, lives at the
Cotton Mill Building in the
Warehouse District in new
Orleans. This Water Tower is a
every distinct feature.

I made this purse for one of the
closest friends in my life. Her
birthday was fast approaching
and I couldn't think of what to
get her. She's been a staunch
supporter and believer in my art
from the beginning so it hit me !
This is us.The place we've met
the most for over 10 years.
Kathi's wine, my beer, our table
by the window and even with
some tough roads behind us,
we're still best friends. Lots of
tears and laughter at that
table, and a lot more years of
both ahead... Preferably with
laughs winning! Thanks for all
your love and friendship,
sweetie.
